Getting Started
• If you haven't read the rules, you are taking a big risk in applying. It's pretty easy to tell when someone hasn't taken the time to read the requirements before slapping down an application. It isn't hard. This isn't a college level science exam. Just simple guidelines that we expect you to follow.
• Firstly, and most importantly, this board is strictly an intermediate/advanced board. We are also currently not accepting applications from anyone under the age of 16. I'm sorry to anyone 15 or younger that is offended but it was a decision the staff made as a group and you are to honor it. If you are under the age of 16 we ask that you click the back button at the top of the screen and leave us. I'm sorry but thank you for stopping by. Otherwise, you're welcome to continue reading.
• You can register with whatever name you want. However, once you've created your account and are posting the application, we ask that you change the 'display name' to your character's first and last name. No added characters like a comma or an apostrophe, just the first and last name. Don't make us do it for you - it takes up time that could be used to better the forum.
• Don't post an application that isn't in the template format. It was designed the way it is for a reason and everything we need to know is included while in an order we recognize. Don't edit it or mess around with it, please. it makes the staff's lives easier when you just fill out what you're supposed to.
• You are welcome to have multiple characters on the board, but each one needs to have its own account. Pretty simple, right? Just register again and go through the same process you went through with the first character. There are exceptions in the case of a child character, but those issues need to be taken up with an admin.
• This forum is going to be set at a universal rating of PG-13. Be prepared to see sex, drugs, alcohol, violence and offensive language. However, if a thread is going to go into detail on either sex or violence, a note needs to be added to the thread title with either [R] or [M]. No exceptions. Violaters will be punished.
Conducting Yourself
• Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; you are welcome to disagree, but if you are caught being offensive, you will be warned. If it happens again, suspension is only a click away and it's oh so easy. We've dealt with our fair share of irrational people before when we were mere members. Now that the three of us are staff, we will try to keep an eye on everyone. And keep you in line.
• Don't argue with administrators and staff. It's not polite and won't be tolerated. If you have a problem with one of the administrators or staff members, send a PM to a neutral third party that you are not having issues with and they can help the two of you resolve whatever issues you have.
• Keep cursing to as minimal as possible, especially in the OOC boards. If you are in character and posting with someone who swears like a sailor, go for it. That's just you being your character. However, if it begins to offend people and one of the administrators or staff members receive complaints, you'll need to tone it down. You will be informed if you're out of line.
Roleplaying Rules
• You will not post until your application has been accepted. Don't post in the in character boards, don't post in the games board. It comes off harsher than we intend, but we'd prefer if you waited to actually get involved with the boards, thank you.
• Make your posts at least three paragraphs in length. A good paragraph is 5-6 sentences at the minimum. You can get away with posting something shorter once or twice, but if it becomes frequent, you will be warned and we will be watching you.
• No power playing. You can't control another person's actions unless they give you permission. If someone is writing with you and power playing, ask them to stop. If they don't, you can contact an administrator and they will take care of it. If you are contacted about the problem, know that you are being watched until the problem is corrected.
• No chatspeak or smilies unless you are posting in the OOC boards. It looks messy and it's not acceptable by our standards.
Miscellaneous
• You may only advertise on the advertisement board. Nowhere else. If you do, it will be deleted immediately. If you advertise in the c-box, you will be warned. If you are a multiple offender, you will be banned for a period of time.
• You cannot have a signature exceeding 500x300 pixels. If you do, an administrator has the right to remove it from your signature and replace it with a message telling you why it was removed. You may have 100x100 avatars in your signature, but no more than four.
• You must have at least an avatar to be accepted. Avatars are not to exceed 100x100 in size. Again, an administrator has the right to remove your avatar if it is too big.
• Don't double-post. It's uncool. Unless you're in the OOC boards. Spamming is completely acceptable there, to an extent.
• The only rule we have on character creation is simple. For every three characters you make, at least one must be human. This is simply because we do not want an influx of vampires and shape-shifters which would leave the humans out numbered. This is obviously not the true case.
